The Word of God is alive and powerful. These scriptures have shaped the prayer lives of men across our fellowship — and they can shape yours too.

Since 1987, men have gathered every Saturday morning to pray together. Over the years, certain passages have come to define how we pray — bold, expectant, and with full faith. This page collects the scriptures and teachings that have had the deepest impact on our brothers.

The Prayer of Jabez

“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.”

Why this matters: Jabez didn't ask small. He asked God to bless him, expand his influence, stay close, and protect him. Four bold requests — and God granted every one. This prayer has been a cornerstone of our fellowship since the earliest days, shared by Bud Reading, one of our founding encouragers.
